RC Hurlingham March Babies – nine of them – organized a tree planting session in celebration of their birthdays which they held on Saturday 26th March at Nairobi West Prison on Langata Road. This is in line with the Club’s initiative to celebrate our members Special Days like Birthdays & Anniversaries by planting trees and spreading the One Love cheer, in our continuous effort to Conserve our Environment.  The challenge is open to RC Hurlingham Rotarians & Prospective Rotarians!
Between themselves and their well-wishers, they managed to raise 230 bamboo seedlings; 320 fruit tree seedlings and 50 Croton tree seedlings. The tree planting birthday celebrations was also supported by The Millenial Environmentalists who sponsored the Croton tree seedlings; Bamboosa Green Living & Circle Caterers who sponsored 80 bamboo seedlings; and Greenspot Enterprises who sponsored 20 bamboo seedlings.
The March babies together with their family and friends were warmly received by the Officer-in-Charge at Nairobi West Prison who were most appreciative of the fruit trees and bamboo seedlings which they will plant along the prison fence; as well as boost their existing tree nursery and nurture for economic benefits. The March babies were grateful to everyone who supported their tree planting One Love celebrations and for making it a success.
