About 7,000 bed kits were distributed across multiple regions, reaching communities in Mariakani, Isiolo, Naro Moru, Karatina, Maragua, Mavoloni, Narok West, and culminating in Nairobi.
For more than two decades, the Rotary Club of Nairobi has proudly partnered with the Canadian charity Sleeping Children Around the World (SCAW) — a collaboration that has brought hope, comfort, and dignity to children across Kenya. Together, we have now helped deliver more than 120,000 bed kits to children under 12 in schools nationwide.
In 2026, our mission continued with great purpose. Between 4th and 18th February, 7,000 bed kits were distributed across multiple regions, reaching communities in Mariakani, Isiolo, Naro Moru, Karatina, Maragua, Mavoloni, Narok West, and culminating in Nairobi.
Each bed kit includes a mattress, bedding, mosquito net, clothing, and school supplies — essentials that enable children not just to sleep, but to rest safely, learn with focus, and thrive with confidence.
Quality sleep is foundational to a child’s mental and physical development, and seeing their smiles, enthusiasm, and gratitude at each distribution site was a powerful reminder of why we serve. This initiative reflects Rotary’s commitment to Service Above Self — bringing comfort and opportunity to children, and strengthening the fabric of communities across Kenya.
A heartfelt thank you to all Rotarians, volunteers, team leads, and partners who gave their time and energy to make this year’s distribution a success — especially those who led from the front in Karatina and beyond.
Here’s to continuing this impactful work — transforming lives one bed kit at a time.
